If a person is looking for a Bible with all of the verses and Bible stories, this is not the book for you. With the title saying “The Adventure Bible,” I thought that it would be an actual Bible with some side notes of crafts to make. However, the book is not a Bible.
The Adventure Bible is a book about 8 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 3/4 inch thick. It is hardcover and filled with all kinds of ideas for the child who loves both nature and crafts. This is the perfect book for the child, “nature explorer.” Each spread page has some kind of an idea to do with details steps of how to do it. There are 60 ideas total including both crafts and research ideas. Craft ideas listed include how to make a cross out of twine and sticks or how to make David’s slingshot. There are also instructional ideas such as how to use a compass or how to identify trees. Other ideas include a duct tape nature journal, finger knitting, the basics of First Aid, homemade rock candy, and more! Either boy or girl who loves the outdoors will love this book.
Another great component of the Adventure Bible is that it ties each activity into the Bible. There is a related verse next to teach activity. Also there is a “Think About It” section that includes a prompt to try to get the child to think about the activity in how it relates to the Bible and how both can be applied to his or her life.
I have received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I give this book 2 thumbs up!
