Dear sweet girl:
There may be times in life where you feel like no one loves you or even likes you. Maybe your parents disciplined you or your siblings teased you. Maybe your boyfriend dumped you or you don’t have any friends at school. During moments like this the enemy (Satan) will try to trick you into believing a lie that you aren’t loved.
It is a good idea to understand the truth about love, and then you can be more able to understand and remember the truth that:
YOU ARE LOVED.
God loves you
Jesus loves you
the Holy Spirit loves you
thats all that matters.
Perfect love? Love that never messes up, love at never fails? That kind of love comes from God.
Your creator loves you so stinking much- and you know what is cool about it? You don’t have to earn His love! You don’t have to buy His love with good works, or with chores. You don’t have to read the Bible a certain amount of time, or pray every night for God to love you.
God loves you in your good days and He even loves you on your bad, worst, most messiest days. When you fell like you are falling apart and can’t do anything right, He still loves you. If you are mad at God or even if you do a lot of naughty things- God still loves you.
If the lie that you are not loved ever creeps into your head, you kick that lie out right away because you are loved and you will always be loves no matter what!
Here is proof:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16. (God gave Jesus to die on the cross so that we could go to heaven and live. He did this so we could always spend time with Him, even after we die – because He loves us.)
“… but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” Psalm 86:15 (It is hard to make God angry, and even if you do make Him angry, He still loves you).
“In all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, no things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-38 (There is nothing that can happen that can cause God to stop loving us.)
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ- by grace you have been saved…” Ephesians 2:4-5 (God loves those who sin as well as those who don’t sin).
You are loved.
You were loved in the womb.
You were loved at birth.
You were loved yesterday.
You are loved today,
you I’ll be loved tomorrow.
In this world, God’s love is the only love that matters. And, you have His love. Always remember this.
I pray that’s even on hard, tough, and lonely days that you will feel God’s love for you. That even if you mess up that you remember you don’t have to earn this love. That even if everything seems a mess in life that you remember you can count on one thing: God loves you. With this love He will take care of you. I pray this truth will always resound in your head and that lies of anything else will not have any place in your mind. I ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen
