“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”
For the days after my appendectomy that I was in the hospital, my big brother stuck by my side while my husband was caring for our infant. He was there to just sit and keep me company, to listen to me, to entertain me, to love me. He made the days in the hospital go smoother. He was the best nurse I had – lifting my legs in and out of the bed, feeding me, and overseeing where I needed help. He was my protector, my comforter, my friend.
Maybe you don’t have a big brother. You can rest assured though because you are God’s child. As is Jesus. Therefore, Jesus is your big brother. Jesus is the best big brother anyone could have. He is more than a protector. He is more than a comforter. He is more than a friend. Do you allow Him to be this for you though?
I could have easily told my brother to not come to the hospital – to go home. If I had done this I wouldn’t have been so blessed. Are you letting your big brother Jesus bless you today?
